The majority favoured the ordination of women to the diaconate. The Synod didn't vote on using chocolate instead of hosts at the Novus Ordo. More than 300 handpicked delegates gathered in Gormanston, County Meath, to vote on 35 proposals concerning the future of the Church in Ireland. Regarding women's ministry, including "ordination" to the diaconate, 54% supported further exploration. A further 19% called for further consideration, while 27% were opposed.
