“We are working in our own small way, with our limited manpower, to bring about an Imperfect General Council that will publicly recognise the present Catholic disaster that has no way out but through,” said Father Michael Mary, head of the Congregation of the Transalpine Redemptorists, in an interview with ThePress.co.nz on 10 April. The group was expelled from the Christchurch Diocese in New Zealand in July 2024 following allegations, primarily concerning unauthorised exorcism practices. The priests denied any wrongdoing. In October 2025, the community repudiated “false shepherds” and recent papal documents without explicitly declaring the papal office vacant. Their proposed “council” would consist of bishops acting without papal authority, though no names have been given: “There are Catholics all over the world left in ‘Catholic bunkers’ who know what is going on. It is a matter of reaching out to them.” Toward Electing a "Pope"? To justify the idea, Father Michael Mary invokes …More

Rational people see this as pure manipulation of Markets; and the nitwits in the markets seem to actually believe it! Trump makes this announcement on a Tuesday. The 48 Hours covers Wednesday and Thursday. By Friday, maybe negotiations start, maybe they don’t., but in the meantime, MARKETS hold-the-line thinking “all will be well” when that’s simply not the case. The people I spoke with today about this told me they see this as PURE MARKET MANIPULATION. They’re gob-smacked that the so-called “experts” in the markets, are so gullible, so blind to reality, so utterly stupid, they can’t even see they’re being grossly manipulated. Unlike the folks I spoke with, I do not believe the “experts …
"AND so you may perceive that the Divine Nature eternally works according to the Persons, and is eternally idle and wayless according to the simplicity of Its essence. All therefore that God has chosen and laid hold of with eternal personal love, has already been essentially and fruitively possessed of Him in unity with essential love. For the Divine Persons are enfolded within the Unity in a mutual embrace in an eternal contentment, in abysmal active love. And this is perpetually renewed in the lifegiving life of the Trinity;"

The latest outburst from Donald J. Trump is a direct and unusually aggressive attack on Pope Leo XIV. Trump wrote on social media that Leo XIV is “weak on crime” and “a disaster in foreign policy”. “He talks about ‘fear’ of the Trump Administration, but doesn’t mention the FEAR that the Catholic Church, and all other Christian Organizations, had during COVID when they were arresting priests, ministers, and everybody else, for holding Church Services, even when going outside, and being ten and even twenty feet apart.” Trump does “not want a Pope who thinks it’s OK for Iran to have a Nuclear Weapon.” “I don’t want a Pope who thinks it’s terrible that America attacked Venezuela, a Country that was sending massive amounts of Drugs into the United States and, even worse, emptying their prisons, including murderers and drug dealers into our Country.” “And I don’t want a Pope who criticizes the President of the United States because I’m doing exactly what I was elected, IN A LANDSLIDE …More
'The nuncio was reminded of what had happened to the papacy during the Avignon “captivity”.' What is that supposed to mean? Is Trump going to kidnap the pope like he did the Venezuelan president?
Ambiences, Customs, Civilizations by Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira Old magazines are often very charming. This is true even when what comes down to us are only loose undated pages that give us glimpses of the remote past. A Paris journal of the last century, L ‘Illustration, carried an article, “Customs of the Café Valois,” written by A. de Belloy, whose memory has been whisked away by time. What is the date of these pages? The article gives us only the most vague elements as to the answer. It is safe to place them somewhere in the 1860’s. In any case they have the merit of evoking certain values of the social conduct of old. Values that disappeared more and more as large cities came into being in the last century, and of which, not even vestiges have remained among the general public of today’s Babels of concrete, steel and asphalt. They were precious values that endowed social relationships with human warmth and that stemmed from the fact that the civilization of yesteryear was centered …More
Leo XIV's current visit to Algeria is (also) personal. In 2004, Father Prevost participated in a pilgrimage to mark the 1650th anniversary of Saint Augustine’s birth, reports IlGiornale.it on 13 April. Due to security concerns, the group had been heavily escorted by police and had been restricted to a brief visit to Annaba (ancient Hippo). No broader travel inside Algeria was considered safe at the time. They were strongly advised not to spend the night in Algeria, which is why they returned to Tunisia the same day. Fr Prevost was dressed entirely in civilian clothes, as usual. Returning now as Pope, he revisits those same places. Picture: Conversation Nico Spuntoni, #newsJsaejrgunk

"But from that very hour in which, with God's help, he can overcome his selfhood—that is to say when he is so detached from himself that he is able to leave in the keeping of God everything of which he has need—behold, through doing this he is so well pleasing to God that God bestows upon him His grace. And, through grace, he feels true love: and love casts out doubt and fear, and fills the man with hope and trust, and thus he becomes a faithful servant, and means and loves God in all that he does. Behold, this is the difference between the faithful servant and the hireling.”
[BLESSED JAN VAN RUYSBROEK – XIII-XIV Century AD; Ruisbroek, Holy Roman Empire/ Groenendael, Holy Roman Empire; Mystic, Spiritual Writer, Doctor Divinus Ecstaticus] “Chapter VI ~ OF THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE HIRELINGS AND THE FAITHFUL SERVANTS OF GOD NOW you may mark this: that some men receive the gifts of God as hirelings, but others as faithful servants of God; and these differ one from another in all inward works, that is, in love and intention, in feeling and in every exercise of the inward life. Now understand this well: all those who love themselves so inordinately that they will not serve God, save for their own profit and because of their own reward, these separate themselves from God, and dwell in bondage and in their own selfhood; for they seek, and aim at, their own, in all that they do. And therefore, with all their prayers and with all their good works, they seek after temporal things, or may be strive after eternal things for their own benefit and for their own profit.…More
Alexander Litvinenko’s accusation that Vladimir Putin was a paedophile may have been one of the motives for the Russian government to order his assassination, a report into the former Russian spy's death has found. Sir Robert Owen’s inquiry looked at the former FSB agent’s “highly personal attacks” on the Russian President, which culminated with an article on the Chechenpress website in July 2006, four months before he was poisoned. Mr Litvinenko’s article, which was published as evidence in the report, started by recounting a meeting between Mr Putin and a boy “aged four or five” in a square near the Kremlin. 0 seconds of 2 minutes, 26 secondsVolume 90% “Putin kneeled, lifted the boy’s T-shirt and kissed his stomach,” Mr Litvinenko wrote. “Nobody can understand why the Russian president did such a strange thing as kissing the stomach of an unfamiliar small boy.” The former FSB agent claimed there were “blank spots” in Mr Putin’s career that could be explained by his superiors …
1. Aquinas (and St. Agustine also) said that early gestation unborn babies are vegetable and animals before becoming human. Pro-abortion Catholic President Biden and Catholic Speaker Pelosi both quoted this in their defense of early legal abortion. 2.Aquinas said that “conscience” must always be followed. This is absolutely contrary to Catholic teaching, but some people still cite this as justification for abortion. 3. Aquinas foolishly said that lying is never permissible. Imagine the classic situation that you are hiding Jews in your attic during WW2 and the Nazis ask you if you are hiding Jews. According to Aquinas you must tell the Nazis “Yes they are in the attic” which results in the murder of the Jews. Aquinas is wrong...Biblically wrong.
1. Was there clarity regarding the infusion of the soul at that time settled by the Church ? You can be sure St Thomas would have changed his opinion to be in conformity. He is obviously not infallible. 2. Conscience is "with knowledge". Plainly without knowledge would mean something different. As Catholic Doctrine is clear i.e the science exists and is clear that abortion is a grave moral evil , those who support it follow contrascience. 3. Is a bit of a straw man and obviously the action of providing information to aid evil would not be supported by Aquinas. You could truthfully hold the position that Christ determines the sons of Abraham as those who like Abraham, rejoiced at His coming. Being God, He gets to define who they are surely. What labels men choose to erroneously co-opt is their own affair. You are quite free to ignore the misdesignation without scruple. So you can with good conscience say quite truthfully there are no Jews here, thereby protecting your neighbour and avoid …More
