Today, Archbishop Carlo Viganò published the personal letter that he had sent to Pope Leo XIV in January. It appears that - despite Viganò having denied that Francis was a legitimate pope - he recognizes Leo XIV. Monsignor Viganò addresses Leo XIV as "Holiness," asks him to exercise his authority, and seeks an audience with him. Archbishop Viganò recounts his long career in Vatican service, argues that he was punished for exposing corruption and doctrinal problems in the Church, explains how retirement led him to reject Vatican II and the post-conciliar direction of the Church, defends himself against the charge of schism, and urges Leo XIV to break with the errors of the Francis era and the synodal project. The letter contains a noticeably heavy use of first-person pronouns and is full of self-reference, emphasis on personal integrity, descriptions of persecution and mistreatment, frequent presentation of himself as a key witness to major events, and relatively little self-criticism …Àteru
I would like to see the first letter he sent to Leo, the original letter he sent when he first requested a Private Audience. That’s what would tell the story.
Why Does Leo XIV Appoint This Kind of Leadership to the Church? During Sunday Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Archbishop Ronald Hicks of New York celebrated the New York Knicks’ NBA championship victory with an embarrassing display of fandom, which included nervous giggling and requests for applause. Holding up a No. 11 Knicks jersey, he told worshippers that he had 'caught Knicks fever' and had watched the entire championship-winning match. He then showcased a FIFA shirt and a Puerto Rican hat to highlight New York’s major events that day. The performance quickly attracted attention online. Catholics on social media ridiculed the Archbishop, questioning Pope Leo XIV’s decision to appoint him as Archbishop of New York.
All these infiltrated homosexual activists are members of the anti-Church who attack the Church from within—and, with Prevost’s complicity, they defy God. Just as Lucifer dragged a third of the angels along with him in his rebellion against God, Bergoglio and Prevost are dragging their own followers along with them. But God is not mocked with impunity; woe to them, for they are consummating their rebellion against God without the slightest repentance.

Leo XIV to the FSSPX: "Do Not Do This": On Tuesday evening in Castel Gandolfo, Pope Leo XIV was asked about the the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX). He replied: "We have invited them, and I am still considering making another appeal, saying: 'Do not do this. Let us try to live in communion within the Church.' But it is their choice. One must realize what it means for them and for the Church. Certainly, division among Christians is always something painful. However, they refuse to accept certain fundamental elements of the Church, beginning with several points of the Second Vatican Council. If they make that choice, I am sorry, but we must move forward."
Il Pontefice annuncia pure che verrà esteso un altro appello ai lefebvriani: “La divisione nella Chiesa è sempre un dolore”
So….when apostate and heretical Cardinals, Bishops, Priests and Religious “refuse to accept certain fundamental elements of the Church” regarding sodomy, adultery, etc. they’re acceptable; but when the FSSPX simply want to remain faithful to the truth, they are to be excommunicated? Have you no sense of justice, Your Holiness?
"All Churches, Mosques, and Synagogues Are Sacred": Archbishop Edward J. Weisenburger of Detroit spoke at the dedication of the new mosque in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, on June 5. He said there was nowhere he felt greater honor, fraternity, and kindness, and that he had sensed "the divine presence" from the moment he arrived. Echoing the imam, he said that all present belong to the same human family and described all churches, mosques, and synagogues alike as "sacred" places where God reaches out to humanity - places that would bring "all of humanity" into deeper communion with "our one God."

In our time, authority is deeply discredited, both in society and in the Church, whether because of excess or deficiency. This was said by Father Francisco Rivera, 46, on June 14 in an interview with VidaNuevaDigital.com. He was elected on May 20 as the new abbot of the Cistercian Monastery of Santa María de Huerta in Soria, Spain. It is one of Spain’s great monasteries and one of the most important historic houses of the Cistercian Order. Father Rivera acknowledged that the number of vocations has declined drastically: “We can blame the world, its values or lack of them, young people, social media, and so on. But I believe consecrated life must also undertake a rigorous examination of conscience. Perhaps we have become a kind of tasteless salt. And we know what the Lord Jesus says in the Gospel about that.” For the new abbot, the best vocation campaign is “to live, in our case, a serious and coherent monastic life, in fidelity to our monastic commitments and to the Rule of Saint …Àteru

An Illinois judge ruled last week that the Archdiocese of Chicago may continue its lawsuit against a group of people accused of making false sexual abuse claims. The lawsuit, filed in 2025, says that more than two dozen people took part in a plan to make false abuse accusations in order to receive money from settlement payments by the archdiocese. According to court documents, the group allegedly recruited people to make claims, coached them on what to say, and shared the money received from settlements. The archdiocese says its investigation was helped by recorded prison phone calls in which the alleged scheme was discussed. The recent ruling does not decide whether the allegations are true. It only rejects efforts to dismiss the case and allows the Archdiocese's lawsuit to continue. The abuse claims involve former priest Daniel McCormack, who pleaded guilty in 2007 to several counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and has many confirmed victims. Cardinal Blase Cupich said the Church …Àteru

TikTok Video Leads to Suspended Sentence: In France, Jean-Eudes Gannat, 31, founder of the Mouvement Chouan, received a three-month suspended prison sentence and €4,655 in penalties after posting a TikTok video filmed outside a supermarket in Segré-en-Anjou Bleu in which he referred to Afghan migrants as “cousins of the Taliban.” An Angers court ruled the remarks constituted public insults and incitement to hatred, awarding damages to the individuals involved and anti-racism organizations. The case has reignited debate over free speech and hate-speech laws in France.
“Help Me”: Botched Euthanasia in Canada: An Ontario man undergoing "Medical Assistance in Dying" (MAID) reportedly remained conscious after the initial drugs failed to produce the expected level of sedation. He showed signs of distress, including groaning, grimacing and muscle tension, and repeatedly said “help me.” Verbalizations continued until additional sedation with propofol was administered and a comatose state was confirmed. Family members described the experience as traumatic.
