The apostolic visitation of "conservative" Heiligenkreuz Abbey in Austria has concluded. Following several months of investigation and interviews with 90 monks, the Vatican has issued a number of recommendations. A formal complaint of homosexual abuse against Italian-born Bishop Antonio Santarsiero Rosa, 74, has been hand-delivered to the Apostolic Nunciature in Lima on March 31, reports InfoVaticana.com. The dossier was simultaneously sent to pro-homosexual Cardinal Tucho Fernández, Prefect of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith. Bishop Santarsiero is the Secretary General of the Peruvian Episcopal Conference and Bishop of Huacho. The accusation is systematic homosexual abuse and psychological mistreatment of individuals under his authority. A Finnish study has found that psychiatric morbidity increased over time among adolescents who underwent "gender reassignment". Published in Acta Paediatrica and led by Professor Riittakerttu Kaltiala, the research followed more than 2,000 young people referred to gender identity programs, alongside over 16,000 matched controls, with follow-up extending up to 25 years. The study includes hormones and/or organ mutilations. It is a nationwide observational study, not a randomized trial. Among those who received medical interventions: - Psychiatric morbidity rose from 9.8% to 60.7% in individuals undergoing feminising treatments. - It rose from 21.6% to 54.5% in those undergoing masculinising treatments. The study reports that psychiatric morbidity remained substantially elevated over time. Even after accounting for prior psychiatric history, "gender-referred" adolescents showed substantially higher psychiatric morbidity than matched peers.
