The Roman Rite Returns to Another Monastery: Today, twelve Benedictine monks from Le Barroux officially established a new monastic community at Notre-Dame de Bellefontaine Abbey in western France. Founded in the early 12th century, the abbey was home to Trappist monks from 1816 until their departure in 2025. Fr. Raphaël, the new prior, paid tribute to the departing community: "The monastery is in very good condition. The brothers cared for it until the very end, always hoping they could remain." And: "Our liturgy will be celebrated in Latin and Gregorian chant. There will be those who like it and those who do not. Each person must discern for himself."

Man Arrested Over Attempted Theft of St. Januarius' Mitre: A 43-year-old foreign national was arrested on Wednesday after attempting to steal the ceremonial mitre from the reliquary bust of St. Januarius inside Naples Cathedral. The theft was immediately reported, allowing authorities to track the suspect using surveillance cameras. The man faces a charge of attempted theft. The mitre was recovered and returned to the cathedral, where the relics of St. Januarius are kept.
