At the Sunday Angelus in St. Peter’s Square, Leo XIV voiced deep concern over the escalating violence involving the United States, Israel, and Iran. He warned that the situation could lead to “a tragedy of enormous proportions” if hostilities continue. “Stability and peace are not built through mutual threats, nor through weapons,” Leo XIV said, stressing that only “reasonable, authentic, and responsible dialogue” can bring lasting peace. He urged all parties to assume their moral responsibility and halt the spiral of violence before it becomes an “irreparable abyss”. Calling for diplomacy to regain its central role, he emphasized the need to promote justice and peaceful coexistence. #newsWizrkaihsy
Why is this water (people use H₂O for) falling? It is falling because it is heavy. It is heavier than air. What would happen if it were helium (gas) balloons? So lighter things ascend, while heavier things descend.

A Scottish grandmother posted the following today, begging the public for help: "This is my grandson, Lucas, being attacked by a gang of Asian youths. Lucas attends BELLAHOUSTON ACADEMY in Glasgow. Lucas is 12 and from the day he started at this school, he has been bullied for being white and little bit overweight plus he is tall for his age. Lucas has ADHD and a degree of Autism. These youths are from his school and are older. They told him they will Rape, Stab or Shoot his mother. They are terrorising the whole area and have been for around a year. We have now involved the Police, Media and written to the Board of Education. He is terrified to go back to school, Lucas is the kindest boy you could ever wish to meet. This has to stop".
Things like that weren't uncommon in my neighborhood growing up in the San Fernando Valley of California, in the 70's. I am sorry for the boy. I hope he can figure out how to defend himself. People here in North Idaho are much more courteous considering every one is carrying a concealed pistol.
The Holy Lance that pierced Christ’s side was displayed for veneration on Saturday at St. Peter’s Basilica. Each year during the first week of Lent, the relic is solemnly presented to the faithful during a special Lenten procession and Eucharist before being returned to the Chapel of Relics.
The Holy Lance—traditionally believed to have pierced Christ’s side—has long been venerated in Christian tradition. The soldier who used it is identified as Saint Longinus. Each year during the first week of Lent, a solemn procession moves through St. Peter’s Basilica as the Litany of the Saints is chanted, concluding with Mass at the Altar of the Chair.
The Apostolic understanding, that is the understanding of those who knew Him during his sojourn on Earth and to whom he promised "the spirit of truth who will tell you all things", Jesus is fully man and fully God, existing before all time of the same substance as God the Father and incarnate at a specific time as Jesus Christ. That is more than a prophet, more than a man and more than a teacher. Goodness, there have been hundreds who met those three criteria in history.

Muslims are shocked that a street preacher isn't being arrested for allegedly saying "hateful" and "distressing" things about their religion. In the UK 9 times out of 10 this is enough to get you arrested, so this is a breath of fresh air.
There is a "polite persecution" of Christians in Japan, Cardinal Tarcisio Isao Kikuchi of Tokyo told CruxNow.com on February 28. He said that religious activities are welcomed by the public "as long as they remain confined within their own premises, such as temples and churches". The cardinal added that, due to the separation of religion and state, it is often argued that the church should refrain from speaking about political matters. He continued: "Catholics in Japan sometimes find it difficult to even gather regularly on Sundays, not because of persecution, but because such consistent religious commitment does not easily fit within the broader cultural understanding of religion." Public schools frequently organise events on Sundays. The Sunday is "a day for various activities that cannot be done during the week". Cardinal Kikuchi, who is also president of Caritas Internationalis, said that the Catholic charity was asked "to avoid explicit Christian identification in order to prevent …تېخىمۇ كۆپ
A Surviving Anglo-Saxon Inlet In The City Of London Missed by many, on the North bank of the Thames, in the City of London, you’ll find a surviving Anglo-Saxon inlet. It is called Queenhithe, established by Alfred the Great in the 9th century. It was later named after Queen Matilda, wife of Henry I. It was once London’s primary port for foodstuffs such as grain and fish in the medieval period. It is a scheduled ancient monument and it is worth adding that are not allowed onto the foreshore here as it is protected. There is also a wonderful mosaic all about the history of London running along one side. #london#londonhistory#londontravel#secretlondon#thames
"Today, we have a pope who views Ukraine through the lens of the European context," Archbishop Sviatoslav Shevchuk of Kyiv, the Primate of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, told Ugcc.ua on February 4 (an in-house interview on the website of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church). Archbishop Shevchuk summarized various statements from Leo XIV in recent months: "This is a war in Europe, and Europe must be a party to the negotiations. We cannot negotiate about Ukraine at the level of, say, the U.S. and Russia." According to Monsignor Shevchuk "we have not heard such a clear position for a long time." He noted Leo XIV’s use of the phrase, 'Constitution of Ukraine': "I had never heard this term used in international discourse before – for some reason, it had fallen out of use. And the Pope emphasized that today it is impossible to seek any ‘peace plan’ for Ukraine without respecting the Constitution of Ukraine." He added: "It was a very professional and carefully worded statement – simply …تېخىمۇ كۆپ
Richard @ricwe123 Turn on Western mainstream media and you’re handed the same sanitized script: the Ukraine war was "unprovoked" Clean. Simple. Convenient. Then footage from 2017 surfaces,British military instructors already on the ground, training Ukrainian forces for a coming showdown with Russia. And then the spell breaks. This wasn’t journalism; it was narrative warfare. Not information, but indoctrination. A carefully engineered story designed to erase context and manufacture consent. Propaganda polished until it passes for truth.
